The name and the work behind it

Our brand

The northern way, from southern Brazil.

Nordweg grew from an existing workshop and a new idea. The name connects the family’s German roots with the direction the next generation wanted to take.

Our name

Nordweg: the northern way

Nord and Weg are German words for north and way. The name honors the family’s German roots in southern Brazil.

It also carries a direction. Igor chose the name while building a new brand around the craft already in the family workshop.

Our mark

A name on the things we make

The Nordweg wordmark and the marks on our products identify the company behind them.

The name belongs to the workshop’s work, and to the customer’s experience of the company. Both give it meaning.

Our roots

The workshop came first

The family was already making bags before Nordweg launched in 2011. Emme’s people, equipment, and accumulated skill made the new idea possible.

That history is visible in the first bag, the family albums, and the photographs of the workshop today.

What the product should carry

Usefulness

A design begins with what someone needs to carry. It should make sense when opened, handled, and used.

Character

Leather brings grain, texture, and a feel in the hand. Use and care become part of living with the object.

Trust

Clear information and thoughtful help belong beside a well-made product. The person carrying it should be able to reach the company behind it.

Continuity

New ideas, with a place to begin

Nordweg began with a small group of designs and one coffee-brown leather. Igor used the workshop’s available capacity to test the bags he wanted to make.

The brand grew through a direct relationship with customers, while the family kept making the products in Picada Café.

Uma Vida Boa

Uma Vida Boa

A good life is the idea behind the brand. Useful products, work we can be proud of, strong relationships, and room to learn give the company its purpose.
